Expressive Landscapes. Atmospheric Paintings
My painting explores the expressive possibilities of colour, texture and the natural world. Moving between recognisable landscapes and abstraction, I investigate how colour, gesture and the layered surface of a painting can transform familiar forms into evocative and imaginative experiences.
Nature is an important source of inspiration in my work. Trees, forests and atmospheric landscapes provide starting points for compositions in which vivid colour, expressive marks and contrasting forms create a balance between structure and spontaneity. Rather than simply reproducing what I see, I seek to capture the energy, atmosphere and emotional resonance of the natural world.
Alongside these landscape-based paintings, I develop more abstract works in which colour, texture and surface become the primary means of expression. Through an intuitive process of layering and experimentation, each painting evolves through a dialogue between intention and unexpected discovery.
Although these approaches differ in their degree of abstraction and representation, they share my interest in the expressive power of colour and the ways painting can move beyond the visible. Across my work, I seek to create images that invite contemplation, awaken the imagination and offer viewers space for their own interpretations.
