Reverie XV – Dreaming in Color

Every painting begins as a quiet thought, and Reverie XV emerged from a space between memory and imagination. I wanted to capture that fleeting moment when colors blur, shapes dissolve, and we’re left with only emotion — like drifting into a dream.

The Inspiration
Soft pinks became the starting point. They reminded me of early morning skies, filled with calm yet full of promise. From there, bursts of yellow, violet, and white dots grew into a field of energy — a rhythm of thoughts, emotions, and sensations layered onto the canvas.
The Process
For this piece, I used a combination of sponge work and a dotting technique. The sponge allowed me to blur edges and create depth, while the dots brought movement and spontaneity. I love how each layer hides and reveals what came before, like thoughts floating in and out of focus.
This process is meditative. It’s less about planning and more about allowing the painting to unfold — every gesture a response to the last.

The Experience
When I look at Reverie XV, I see a dreamscape — a place that feels both expansive and intimate. Some viewers tell me it reminds them of fields of wildflowers, others of memories fading into soft light. That’s the beauty of abstraction: it becomes personal to each person who encounters it.
