Painting the Edge Between Cosmos and Earth

In this piece, Celestial Bloom, I wanted to push the boundaries between landscape and space — to paint not what’s seen, but what’s felt when we look up at a night sky that pulses with color and life.
In this blog post, I’m sharing a glimpse to thevideo process of the painting.
🎨 The Process Behind the Canvas
This painting was all about letting go of control. From flicks and splatters to layered dots and microbursts of color, each element came together like stars forming a constellation.
The top half feels galactic: purples, blues, and fluorescent yellows burst like distant light.
The lower field is textured with yellow and mint-green gestures, like a meadow catching cosmic rain.
I used acrylics, fluorescent pigments, and a range of improvised mark-making tools.
✨ What This Painting Means to Me
Celestial Bloom is about energy in transition — the moment before something changes form. To me, it represents the feeling of standing in a field at night, not knowing if you’re looking at stars or fireflies. There’s something very alive about not trying to define the line between earth and sky.
💬 Let’s Talk:
What do you see when you look at this painting?Does it remind you of a night sky, a city, or something totally different?
